The award season for the sheet metal and HVAC ductwork fabrication industry is in full swing, with the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA) announcing three of its annual award recipients at its 77th Annual Convention in Maui, Hawaii last week.
We at SNIPS Magazine want to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of the SMACNA honorees ahead of announcing our own award winners in the December eMagazine and our print issue for the 2022 AHR Expo at the end of January. Congratulations to all winners, the recognition for decades of pushing this industry forward is well deserved!
• SMACNA's Contractor of the Year award is given to a professional who exceeds all expectations of serving and promoting the industry. This year’s award was presented to Randy Novak, president of Novak Heating & Air, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Read more here.
• The Chapter Executive of the Year award was presented to John Sindyla, Chief Executive Officer of SMACNA-Cleveland, for his positive and significant impact on SMACNA as a national association and his local chapter. Press release linked here.
• The Legislative Contractor the Year is given to a contractor in recognition of their exceptional effort and leadership in legislative action. This year’s award was presented to Tom Martin, president of T.H. Martin, Inc. for his industry contributions. He was also elected to serve as vice president of the board. Press release linked here.
HVAC tool manufacturers like Malco Products have also used the end of the year as an opportunity to recognize hard-working HVAC professionals, as we covered last month on SNIPSMag.com. If you see any of these folks, whether it be out at trade shows or at the other end of a Zoom call, be sure to congratulate them on well-deserved recognition at the end of a hard couple of years.
And of course, stay tuned for SNIPS' own Contractor of the Year award, as well as the announcement of our Industry Icon.
Take care,
